It takes one hell of a guy to make me root for a quarterback that was once a Florida Gator. But, around the 10 minute mark of this interview, Tim Tebow gives a perfect example of why I’m one of his biggest fans.
Tebow’s response to Jake Plumber’s comments that he’s ‘sick of hearing Tim Tebow say he loves Jesus Christ’:
“If you’re married and you have a wife, and you really love your wife, is it good enough to only say to your wife “I love you” the day you get married? Or, should you tell her every single day when you wake up, and at every opportunity? That’s how I feel about my relationship with Jesus Christ. That is the most important thing in my life, so any time I get an opportunity to tell Him that I love Him, or get an opportunity to shout Him out on national TV I’m going to take that opportunity. So I look at it like in my relationship with Him, I want to give Him the honor and glory anytime I have the opportunity.”
In today’s America it is a lot easier to take a hit from a 400lb lineman, whose sole responsibility to to make sure you stay on the ground, than it is to stand up for your faith in Jesus Christ. What makes a hero a hero? Courage AND integrity.
